I get a lot of questions from readers and friends about thrift store and yard sale shopping. So, I thought I would start a little series on some tips for you all.
So, let’s not waste any time and get right to it and you will be loving thrifting just like me!
Tip # 1 – Go with a plan
When we are trying to be frugal, we should always go shopping, of any kind, with a plan of some sort. You bring a grocery list and your coupons to the grocery store, right? So, you should have a list or at least jot down some ideas of what you are looking for when you go out thrift shopping.
I have a running list of things to look for when I’m out such as:
- solid wood furniture
- white iron stone dishes

For example: You are decorating your bedroom and need some accessories to finish it off, but don’t want too spend a fortune. Make a list of what you have in mind or what you have seen in your inspiration pic like above. This would be your list to get this bedside look in your own bedroom:
- small dresser
- decorative chair
- large framed mirror
- assorted small picture frames
- lamp with a thin base
- pedestal pot or bowl for flowers
Now, when you get to the stores and are overwhelmed with all that you see, your shopping will be much easier because you know what you are looking for and you will walk out with what you needed and save a ton of cash!
Tune in tomorrow for the next tip.
