2012 Bucket List

Happy New Year!

I don’t really make concrete New Year’s resolutions any more because, well, I usually just disappoint myself by breaking them two days later, and they aren’t usually fun unless you call losing weight and exercising fun.  So, this year, I’m just going to make some goals and list a few things I would like to be able to cross off my bucket list that are a little more fun…for me any way.

1.  Take a photography class.

Did I tell you that Santa brought me a brand new Canon Rebel T3 DSLR camera!  I love it already but really don’t know what I’m doing with it.  But, just the photos I’m taking in the auto and preset modes are sooo much better.  I’d love to learn more about it though and have always wanted to take a photography class.  Not sure I’ll do it in person or online, but it’s a definite must do. Just learned that Kevin Palmer of The Lettered Cottage is working on a photography website that will be up soon (thanks for the heads up Layla)! Will definitely check that out.

2.  Attend a Blog Conference.

Well, this is practically crossed off the list already.  I purchased my ticket for Haven 2012 back in August and can’t wait to go in June!  Meeting my fellow DIY bloggers and the superstar bloggers hosting the conference will be amazing.  And, its in my hometown of Atlanta…bonus! Can’t wait.  And, just maybe I’ll squeeze another one in 2012 also.

3.  Go to the World’s Longest Yardsale.

I just found out about this last year, but it was too late and I couldn’t go.  But in 2012…I am there! 675 miles of yardsale goodness from Hudson, Michigan to Gadsden, Alabama!  Now that is a little slice of heaven.  I’m sure I won’t go the whole way, but it will be fun to do part of it.  Anybody want to go with me?  August 2-5, 2012, let’s make a plan!

4.  Start a Europe Fund.

This may be easier said than done, but one of my big dreams is to visit some of Europe…Paris, Rome, London, etc. If I never start the fund, it will never happen, right?  So, whatever amount possible each month, I’m going to do it.  Oh, and maybe I should get a passport too.  Hopefully it won’t expire before I have enough to actually go.

5.  Entire Week Beach Vacation.

The finances weren’t there last year to take a beach vacation, even a long weekend. But, this year is a must!  We will probably go back to Tybee Island, GA, which is one of my favorite places.  It’s small, not too crowded or touristy.  We also love going into Savannah which is about 20 minutes away.  I love the history and scenery of Savannah and could spend days wondering around and looking at all the beautiful homes and buildings.

Thank you all so much for joining me in 2011.  I truly appreciate every one of you for taking this ride with me, all of your wonderful comments and friendships that have started here.  Here is to 2012 and everything to come!

So, what’s on your bucket list for 2012?
